Warriors to Represent among Worlds Best at Speed River Inferno

Several Warriors - past and present - will represent Waterloo Track Club at the annual Speed River Inferno track meet held at the University of Guelph this Saturday.  The competition is the first of the National Track League circuit held around the country bringing together Olympians and the worlds best athletes to compete.

 

A National section is hosted before the International section for those who have the qualifying marks.

 

Veterans Mo Yassin, Naomi Lance and 2015 rookie Kelsi Darmon will be competing in the National 200m.  Alumni Chantel Pilon and Lawrence Xie will be competing in the National 800m.  Oliver Grant, UWTF captain, will be the rabbit for the Masters section of the 800m.  Rawle Groothuizen will be competing in the National 1500m.

 

Alumni and UWTF coach Kate Bickle-Ferth will be competing with the best in Canada and international athletes in the 400m Hurdle race.  From Germany incoming Warrior, Jorg Ahne, will be taking part in the International long jump competition.
